Sports Engineering in Education
Sport makes science fun!
The natural interest many children have in sport can be utilised to teach science and engineering.

Aim
Cooke Associates aims to use Sports Engineering to introduce and promote science, engineering, technology and sport to students in Key Stages 2 to 5, with extension into adult education.
Approach
We do this by producing interactive computer-based multimedia teaching material based on sports engineering case studies. Material conforms to the National Curriculum of England and Wales, and includes acceptable training aids for staff.
Packages Available
At present, we have three CD-ROMs available:
- Sportscience and Engineering in Education: a Science Engineering Technology CD-ROM aimed at key stages 2, 3 and 4 in association with the Science Enhancement Programme.
- The Science of Tennis coach education CD-ROM in association with the Lawn Tennis Association.
- The Physics of Tennis: a CD-ROM aimed at key stage 4 and 5 in association with the Science Enhancement Programme and the Lawn Tennis Association.
In 2013, the Sports Engineering educational resources developed by Cooke Associates were made available in the eLibrary of the National STEM Centre of the University of York, in association with Mayden Foundation:
